How to delete your Dashed data

This page describes how to request deletion of your Dashed data. For the full Privacy Policy, see privacy.html.

What data Dashed stores

Dashed is a personal cocktail recipe library. The data we hold for you is limited to:

Dashed does not collect your name, email address, password, location, contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. We use Sign in with Apple as the only identity surface, and Apple keeps your email and password on their side.

Data we receive from Instagram

When you share an Instagram URL to Dashed for recipe extraction, we use Instagram's public oEmbed API to retrieve the post's caption text, author handle, and thumbnail URL. This is the same public metadata Instagram returns to anyone embedding a public post. We do not receive any account-identifying information about Instagram users from the oEmbed API.

In-app deletion

The fastest way to delete all of your Dashed data is from inside the app:

  1. Open Dashed
  2. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account
  3. Confirm the deletion

This removes your data in three steps: server-side wipe of your backup snapshots and identity row; local wipe of all recipes, bar items, and preferences on this device; sign-out from Sign in with Apple. The action is immediate.

Email-based deletion request

If you cannot access the app (for example, you've uninstalled it but still want your server-side backup wiped), email us at privacy@dashedapp.com with the subject line "Data deletion request".

To verify the request, please include the Sign in with Apple identifier shown in Settings → Support → Account ID from any device where you're still signed in. If you can no longer access any signed-in device, contact us anyway and we'll help you verify another way (e.g., from the Apple ID associated with the account).

Response time

We resolve deletion requests within 30 days, typically within 7 business days. After deletion completes, residual copies may persist in encrypted Railway volume backups for up to four weeks before automatic rotation removes them; we do not access these backups except to restore from disaster, and the rotated backups overwrite themselves on schedule.
